Gemini and Virgo run on the same instrument. Mercury stands behind both signs, which is true of only two pairs of different signs on the whole wheel, and it shows in the obvious way: both are quick, verbal, restless, and inclined to solve a feeling by thinking about it.

What Mercury does not settle is what the thinking is for. On the Gemini side it spreads — more inputs, more connections, more versions. On the Virgo side it sorts — fewer inputs, checked, ordered, made usable.

A square is 90 degrees, and it describes two signs that keep having to choose between methods that will not merge. Here the choice is always the same one: is this good enough to go out, or does it need another pass.

Gemini says the point of a thing is that it exists and can be revised in public. Virgo says the point is that it is right, and that publishing an error costs more than the delay would have.

Neither position wins, and the pair's quality of life depends almost entirely on whether the disagreement stays about the work or becomes about the person.

Nervous energy, doubled

Both of these two run hot mentally and both mistake anxiety for analysis. Neither has a natural way of stopping, so a worry can be examined all evening by two people who are enjoying the examination and getting no relief from it.
