Taurus and Pisces are easy company almost immediately, and the ease is unusually physical: neither hurries the other, neither raises the volume, neither talks over the top of a silence, and both regard an unfilled afternoon as a good thing rather than a problem to be solved.

At 60 degrees the two hold a sextile, and their elements support one another, so nothing in the basic temperature of this pair has to be negotiated. What has to be worked out is who deals with the outside world, because the honest answer at the start is neither of them, and the outside world does not stop asking.

Where this pair rubs

The rub in this pair is passivity, and it belongs to both. Taurus waits because waiting has usually worked. Pisces waits because the situation might resolve itself, and sometimes it does.

When it does not, the pair discovers it has no mechanism at all. Nobody escalates, nobody makes the call, and the problem grows to a size that neither of them created. Then Taurus becomes unexpectedly blunt, all at once, and Pisces is genuinely wounded by a flatness that has been building silently for weeks.

What helps is dividing the outward-facing jobs in advance, by name, while nothing is going wrong.

Ground and permission

Taurus gives Pisces something solid to stand on: an address, a routine, a bank balance that is known rather than estimated. Pisces relaxes in that more visibly than almost any other sign would.

What Pisces gives back is harder to name and easy to feel. Taurus is prone to a narrow practicality, a life of correct decisions with the imagination filed away, and Pisces reopens it — not by argument but by treating the unlikely thing as obviously worth doing.

The unpleasant conversation

Neither of these two enjoys confrontation, and each avoids it in a different way: Taurus by not mentioning it, Pisces by being somewhere else when it comes up.

So the difficult phone call sits on the table for a fortnight. Landlords, relatives, money owed by a friend — the pair's real vulnerability is not with each other but at the boundary with everyone else, where a firm sentence is required and neither wants to be the one who says it.

Facts and impressions

Taurus reports what happened. Pisces reports what it was like, and treats the two as roughly interchangeable.

Most of the time this is harmless and occasionally charming. It stops being either when the subject is money or a commitment made to a third party, where Taurus needs the literal version and finds it has been softened somewhere in transit — not dishonestly, but softened all the same, which for Taurus is the same problem.

The angle between Taurus and Pisces

Taurus and Pisces stand 60° apart on the zodiac wheel, and astrology calls that distance the Sextile. The angle never changes: it is the same for every pair of these two signs, whatever else the two charts hold.

Earth and Water are the classically supportive elements: each one gives the other what it does not produce on its own.

Fixed and Mutable are two different speeds: one sets the pace, the other decides how long it lasts.

The pair has two rulers, Venus and Neptune, and each side reads the relationship through its own.

Compare the real charts

A Sun sign is only the outline. A synastry chart puts two full birth charts side by side — Moon, Venus, Mars and the houses — and shows where the two of you actually meet.
