Aries meets a difficulty by walking into it. Pisces goes round it, and is frequently still standing when Aries has exhausted the situation entirely.
The two are neighbours, 30 degrees apart. A semisextile hands a pair no shared element and no shared cross — nothing at all to translate through — and hands them a border instead. One sign ends the wheel and the other begins it, which is a nice image and not much use in a kitchen.

Aries and Pisces: common questions
They are an unlikely combination that works when the difference is taken seriously rather than treated as a phase. Nothing is shared structurally, so nothing here is automatic. What each gets is access to a way of handling life they could not have produced alone.
That is the usual assumption and it is mostly wrong. Pisces is durable in a way Aries is not, and outlasts situations rather than confronting them. What is true is that the two have different recovery times, and Aries tends to underestimate the other one's by a wide margin.
It is the 30-degree gap between adjacent signs, with no shared element or cross to translate through. The two are side by side and entirely unalike, so this pairing has to be constructed deliberately. Nothing about it can be assumed from goodwill.
Because pressure applied at speed removes the time that side needs to work out what it thinks. The withdrawal is not sulking and it is not a tactic. Aries reads it as the argument being abandoned, which prompts more pressure and a longer retreat.
