Two Scorpio are each other's best evidence. Both read a room by what is underneath it, both are right often enough to trust the method, and each has spent years being told they imagine things by people who turned out to be wrong.

Meeting somebody who sees the same undercurrent is therefore not merely a relief after all that. It is corroboration, and corroboration from the one person whose judgement each of them respects is very hard to argue with, including for the two of them. Neither has ever had a second opinion worth this much, and neither has any practice at discounting one.

What doubles, and what is missing

The pair's real exposure is to itself. Each is the other's only check, and each has agreed in advance that the other one sees clearly, so a wrong conclusion about a friend, a colleague or a member of the family has nothing standing in its way.

The same machinery runs inward on a bad week: one reads a withdrawal as concealment, the other confirms it by withdrawing further, and both have evidence. What interrupts it is deliberately checking with somebody outside — which both find humiliating and which is the only reliable correction available to this pairing.

Nothing has to be explained

The relief is real. Neither has to pretend a difficult situation is fine, neither needs the conversation kept comfortable, and both know when the other is lying about being all right.

A bad mood requires no apology here. A grudge against a colleague is not treated as a character flaw. Both have usually been called too intense, and neither says it to the other.

One reading, twice

The trouble is that two instruments calibrated against each other cannot detect a shared error. A friend is late, a message is short, an invitation does not arrive; one of them reads intent into it and the other confirms.

Within an evening the pair holds a detailed account of a third person's motives, agreed by both, tested by neither, and acts on it. This costs the household friendships rather than costing it peace, and the two of them are usually the last to reconsider.

Waiting to be found out

Neither volunteers first. Both watch, both wait, and each reads the other's caution as evidence that caution is warranted.

So the opening months are slow and unusually charged, since each is conducting an assessment the other can feel. What breaks it is one of them saying something unguarded, at which point the whole thing accelerates.

Neither concedes

Two signs on one fixed cross, so nobody here has a reflex for stepping back.

An argument becomes a position, a position becomes an atmosphere, and the atmosphere can outlast anyone's memory of the original subject.

What rescues it is that both would rather have the truth than the peace. The conversation, when it finally happens, is more honest than most couples manage in a decade.

One sign, twice over

Both charts start from the same point of the wheel — 0°, the Conjunction. Nothing here separates the two, and nothing balances them either.

Both signs belong to one element: Water. The pair reacts to what happens the same way before a word is said about it.

Both signs belong to the same cross: Fixed. They meet a change on the same beat, and neither of them is the one who gives way first.

Both signs answer to one planet, Pluto, which is why the pair recognises itself almost at once.

Compare the real charts

A Sun sign is only the outline. A synastry chart puts two full birth charts side by side — Moon, Venus, Mars and the houses — and shows where the two of you actually meet.
